AURORA, Ill. - St. Norbert College fell twice at the Aurora University Triangular, falling to the No. 14 ranked Spartans and Wabash University in two games at Thornton Gymnasium.  

The Green Knights (6-10, 1-3 NACC) fell to Aurora 25-20, 25-19, 25-21 before being outlasted by Wabash 25-18, 25-15, 25-18.  

St. Norbert trailed 19-14 in the first set against Aurora before going on a 5-0 run to tie the set at 19. Sebastian Ciszewski had three kills during the run before a Barry Applewhite kill tied the set. The Spartans, however, finished the game off a 6-1 run from several service aces and errors on the Green Knights part. The Spartans opened set two on another 6-1 run, but St. Norbert went on several runs of its own and came within a tie several times. Aurora was again able to take the set off a late run to win 25-19. The Green Knights took their biggest lead of the game at 10-6 thanks to several kills and service aces from Applewhite in the third set, but faded to stronger Aurora runs late and dropped the third set, 25-21.  

The Green Knights hit .200 in the match with 36 kills and 17 errors on 95 attempts. Bennett Kornaus led the Green Knights with 11 kills, while Applewhite had eight. Owen Knezevich had six. Michael Whitney had 29 assists.  

Ryan Conway had 10 digs, while Kornaus had seven.  

Auroa hit .321 on 38 kills and 11 errors on 84 attempts. Josh McLellan led with 11 kills.  

The Green Knights struggled to keep up with Wabash in the second game of the afternoon. St. Norbert never led in the first set, but a 6-1 run closed the Little Giants led to 20-16 before Wabash ended on a 5-1 run to take the first set 25-18. The second set was all Wabash, with the Green Knights not putting together more than two points in a row in the and took the set 25-15. It was much of the same in the third set despite an impressive opening for the Green Knights. A Kaden Kornaus kill put St. Norbert behind by only one point at 9-8, but it was another lengthy Little Giants run that took the set 25-18.  

St. Norbert hit .147 with 27 kills and 17 errors on 68 attempts. Knezevich and Jacob VanOoyen led with five kills each. Whitney added 11 more assists while Conway led with four digs.  

Wabash hit .524 with 40 kills and seven errors on 63 attempts. Bawibawi Thang led the Little Giants with 12 kills.
