Career: Two Varsity letters

2025: Over 23 sets played tallied 87 assists, 17 digs, and 5 service aces. Set a season and career-best mark of 22 assists vs. Greenville on 3/11.

2024: Registered 45 assists, 42 digs, and 3 service aces over 36 sets played. 

Before SNC: Four-year letter winner for coach Mark Rybakowicz at Dominican High School. Helped guide team to a 2021 Woodland East Conference championship. Twice named second team All-Woodland Conference in 2021 and 2022. Also earned two letters in baseball and three letters in tennis where he was named to an All-Woodland team three times. Played juniors volleyball for Milwaukee Sting and Milwaukee Volleyball Club.

Personal: Intends to major in Pre-Physical therapy with a Spanish minor. Son of Nicolle and Sean Grassl. Has three siblings; Henry, Nora, and Owen. Birthdate is Feb. 9.

“The versatility that Ethan provides our team is invaluable. He is a player that has the skill set to play both the setter and defensive specialist position with a great deal of skill and IQ. This season our team will certainly look to him for those same contributions and hopefully an additional boost form the service line. He has matured a great deal through his freshman year and is someone that our team needs to continue developing as a leader."
