DE PERE – St. Norbert College junior Jacob Klitzke has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's Field Athlete of the Week, announced today by the conference office.  

Klitzke, a Shiocton native and graduate, opened the outdoor season with wins in the shot put and the hammer throw at the St. Norbert Early Bird. He won the shot put with a heave of 54 feet 11 1/2 inches and the hammer throw with a toss of 171 feet 4 inches. His mark in the shot put is a new program record and ranks third nationally in the Division III ranks.  

He also placed third in the discus with a throw of 147 feet 7 inches. All three of his placements currently lead the conference.  

The award is his fifth of the year and his tenth overall.
