DE PERE – St. Norbert College junior Ezra Schermacher and freshman Kyan Lynts have been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week, announced today by the conference office.
Schermacher, a Plymouth native and graduate, was named the NACC's Men's Field Athlete of the Indoor Conference Championship, winning the pole vault and high jump. He won the pole vault with a height of 15 feet 3 inches and cleared the high jump with 6 feet 9 inches, a St. Norbert record.
Lynts, a Casco native and Luxemburg-Casco High School graduate, was named in a three-way tie for the NACC's Men's Track Athlete of the Meet and was named the NACC's Freshman of the Meet. He won the 5,000-meter run in 15:14.49 and the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:37.05, a NACC meet and St. Norbert record.
The award is the 12th in Schermacher's career and the first for Lynts.
