Schermacher Named CSC Second Team Academic All-American

Ezra Schermacher CSC Academic All-American GraphicDE PERE – St. Norbert College junior Ezra Schermacher has been named to the second team of the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) NCAA Division III Men's Track and Field Academic All-America Team, announced today (Jul. 16) by CSC.  

Schermacher, a Plymouth native and graduate, earned a 3.92 grade point average as a biology major.  

Schermacher placed third in the heptathlon at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship, totaling 5,131 points and earning first team All-American status for a second straight year. He was also named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's field athlete of the week twice during the season, bringing his career total up to nine weekly honors, and to the CSC Academic All-District team for a second consecutive year.  

Schermacher is the fifth student-athlete in program history to achieve Academic All-American status, with that group acquiring seven honors.  

Overall, since the inception of the CSC Academic All-America program in 1952, 60 St. Norbert College student-athletes have been selected for 82 awards.   

To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 on a scale of 4.0, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his current institution and be nominated by their sports information director.
