
GENEVA, Ohio – St. Norbert College sophomore
Jacob Klitzke narrowly missed out on All-America honors at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Outdoor Championship at SPIRE Institute.
Klitzke finished in 17th place in the shot put, one spot shy of earning at least second-team All-America accolades.
The Shiocton native's first attempt went 50 feet 2 inches (15.29 meters). Klitzke then fouled on his second attempt. On his third and final try, Klitzke fired 53-1 3/4 (16.20).
The cut to the nine-contestant finals was 56-4 (17.17). UW-Eau Claire's Adam Strouf was the national champion with a best of 60-8 1/2 (18.50).
