DE PERE - St. Norbert College remained perfect in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference women's track and field championship competition when the Green Knights claimed the 2023 outdoor title at Schneider Stadium.
The Green Knights are now a perfect 4-for-4 in women's indoor and outdoor track and field competition since joining the NACC in 2021-22. St. Norbert posted 207.5 points to easily outdistance runner-up Milwaukee School of Engineering's 124 points. Aurora University was in third place with 116 points. The outdoor championship is the 14th in program history for the Green Knights.
Lauren Rottier was named NACC Field Athlete of the Meet, while head coach
Don Augustine and his staff were named NACC Coaching Staff of the Year.
St. Norbert picked up three event championships on Day 2. Rottier won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.31 seconds,
Sydney Spaeth the long jump in 19-1 1/2 and the 4x100-meter relay of Rottier,
Nicole Makope,
Kennedy Marquardt and
Nikki Tranel in 50.52 seconds.
Earning silver medals with second-place showings were Spaeth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.33 seconds), the 4x400-meter relay of
Julie Dunkel, Marquardt,
Ally Zickert and
Jennifer Nummi (4:07.59) and Rottier in the high jump (5-1 3/4) and long jump (18-3 3/4).
Spaeth gained a third-place finish in the high jump at 4-11 3/4.
