DE PERE – St. Norbert College opened its outdoor season with the annual St. Norbert Opener, placing first and claiming seven event wins at Schnider Stadium.
St. Norbert totaled 250 points to win the team title. UW-Stevens Point came in second with 219 points.
Jacob Larson had two event wins, taking first in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.98 seconds and the 400-meter hurdles in 58.40 seconds. Luke Nash won the 100-meter dash in 11.15 seconds, while Randy Johnson came out on top in the 800-meter run in 2:01.14. Christian Lopez (pictured) won the 5,000-meter run in 16:04.53.
Aiden Anderson, coming off his national championship win in Rochester, N.Y. several weeks ago, started his outdoor campaign off with a first place finish in the pole vault, clearing a height of 16 feet 4 3/4 inches. Alex Myszewski also won the triple jump with a distance of 45 feet and one inch.
The team of Nash, Max Jayne, Blake Retzlaff and Kavin Fredrick also won the 4x100-meter relay in 43.91 seconds.
