
GRINNELL, Iowa – St. Norbert College gained an event champion on Day 2 of the Midwest Conference Championship hosted by Grinnell College at Osgood Pool.
The Green Knights are third out of eight teams after the second of three days of competition, totaling 388.5 points. Grinnell is in first place with 646.5 points, while Lake Forest College is second with 412 points.
Finn Heneghan (pictured) won his third career conference title and his first since 2022 with a time of 50.30 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly.
Owen Pittenger put himself in position to earn a berth in the NCAA Division III diving regionals with a score of 463.60 points – a St. Norbert record – in 1-meter diving.
The 200-yard medley relay of Heneghan,
Zak Pearson, Tony Peters and
Andrew Tonkovic finished in third place with a time of 1:34.19.
Tonkovic finished in a tie for fourth place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:42.91.
Owen West was sixth in the 100-yard backstroke in 51.74 seconds, while Pearson was sixth in the 400-yard individual medley in 4:19.68.
Zach Hanse was seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke in 59.41 seconds, while
Owen Geddes was seventh in the 400 individual medley in 4:21.58. Peters added an eighth-place finish in the 100 butterfly in 51:85 seconds.
