DE PERE – St. Norbert College had five women's volleyball players named with All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) honors as announced by the conference office.
Maleigha Kovalaske was named the NACC Freshman of the Year, while junior setter Heidi Colburn and senior pin Alyssa Mills were All-NACC First Team Selections. Two juniors were also named to the All-NACC Second Team: libero Kara Sowinski and middle blocker Mari Szews.
All statistics below are through the regular season.
Kovalaske, a Ripon native and Ripon High School graduate, finished the regular season with 184 kills in 75 sets played, averaging 2.45 kills a set. She also had 135 digs along with 18 blocks.
Colburn, an Oshkosh native and North High School graduate, led the Green Knights in assists with 1,009 in the regular season, which was the most in the NACC. Colburn also recorded 69 kills and was second on the team in digs with 312.
Mills, a Oconomowoc native and Oconomowoc High School graduate, lead the Green Knights in kills with 365. With a hitting average of .198, she averaged 3.38 kills a set. She also recorded 220 digs and was third on the team in blocks with 36.
Sowinski, a Rhinelander native and Three Lakes High School graduate, led St. Norbert in digs with 364, averaging 3.87 a set.
Szews, a Rhinelander native and Three Lakes High School graduate, totaled 181 kills with a hitting percentage of .308, the highest percentage total on the team. Szews was also second in blocks with 55.
