DE PERE – St. Norbert College couldn't get untracked offensively and ended up falling 3-0 to Illinois Institute of Technology in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament quarterfinal-round match at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.
 
The Green Knights (22-9) fell to the Scarlet Hawks 26-24, 25-20, 25-18.
 
St. Norbert never trailed in Set 1 until the very end. The Green Knights pulled away from an 18-18 tie with a 5-1 run to take a 23-19 lead. Illinois Tech then tied it at 23-23 before the Green Knights scored to force set point. But the Scarlet Hawks closed out the set with a ton of momentum and a 1-0 lead.
 
The second set went back-and-forth with St. Norbert leading 10-9, but the Scarlet Hawks went on an 8-0 run to take a 17-10 lead. The Green Knights would get to within four at 23-19 but Illinois Tech finished out a 2-0 lead.
 
Set 3 was tied 6-6 before Illinois Tech went on a 5-0 run to take control. The visitor eventually led 17-9 and 20-11 en route to wrapping up the victory.
 
St. Norbert hit .111 in the match, with 31 kills and 19 errors in 108 attempts. Mari Szews had seven kills, while Anna Kudick and Annabel Stevenson had six kills apiece. Heidi Colburn had 25 assists.
 
Kara Sowinski finished with 12 digs, while Colburn and Casey Vaughan had 11 digs each. Kirsten Klatt finished with three blocks.
 
Illinois Tech hit .209, with 43 kills and 19 errors in 115 attempts. Karla Trautmann Mendez had a match-high 13 kills.
