PITTSFORD, N.Y. – St. Norbert College registered an All-America performance at the Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship at St. John Fisher University's Polisseni Track and Field Complex.
Lauren Rottier earned her first All-America honor by finishing sixth place in the heptathlon. Rottier totaled 4,926 points to set St. Norbert and Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference records. Loras College's Grace Alley was the national champion with 5,278 points.
Rottier completed the final three events on the second day of the seven-event test. Rottier, who entered the day in sixth place, opened Day 2 with a long jump of 18 feet 1 inch for 703 points. She followed with a javelin throw of 122-11 for 619 points. Rottier closed out the heptathlon with a time of 2:32.60 in the 800-meter run for 661 points.
Grace Kowalkowski competed in the pole vault, finishing in a tie for 18th place at 11-5 3/4. Kowalkowski cleared the bar on her first try, but then at 11-11 3/4 she did not get a clearance on her three attempts.
Sydney Spaeth will compete in her second event of the championship as the Green Knights' only contestant on Day 3. Spaeth will take part in the triple jump, which starts at 9 a.m. CDT Saturday.
