BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - St. Norbert had a pair of athletes compete on the first day of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Lauren Rottier competed in the pentathlon, finishing 15th with 3,265 points. Rotter posted 802 points in the 60-meter hurdles (9.53 seconds), 675 points in the high jump (5 feet 1 inch), 639 points in the shot put (38-3 1/2, which was second among pentathletes), 614 points in the long jump (17-0 3/4) and 532 points in the 800-meter run (2:43.64). Carnegie Mellon University's Elizabeth Barre was national champion with 3,837 points.
Sydney Spaeth finished 13th in the long jump with a top distance of 17 feet 10 3/4 inches. Johns Hopkins University's Victoria Kadiri was the national champion with a distance of 19-5 1/2.
Spaeth will compete in the triple jump at 11 a.m. Saturday.
