
RIPON - St. Norbert College got balanced results throughout its lineup on the first day of the Midwest Conference North Division Championship at Ripon College's Ingalls Field and sits in first place as a result.
The Green Knights totaled 109 points through eight events, leading second-place Ripon College's 85 points. Beloit College is in third with 21 points, followed by Lawrence University in fourth place with 20 points and Lake Forest College in fifth with three points.
St. Norbert picked up a podium sweep in the 1,500-meter run.
Joyana Tarsa captured the race with a time of 4:46.41, followed by
Alex Bruley in second place at 4:49.00 and
Olivia Eisch in third place at 4:49.06.
The Green Knights narrowly missed a second sweep of podium spots in the high jump.
Sydney Moore won with a height of 5 feet 1 1/4 inches.
Sydney Spaeth was second on jumps at 5-0 1/2, while
Lauren Rottier was fourth on jumps also at 5-0 1/2.
Miani Blackwell won the hammer throw with a heave of 147-3, followed by
Emma Sweere in second at 143-3.
Sara DeGroot won the pole vault at 11-3, while
Sydney Zima was third at 9-3 1/4.
Zima finished second in the long jump at 16-11 1/2, followed by Rottier in fourth at 16-1 1/2.
The 4x100-meter relay of Zima,
Sydney Olund,
Emelia Lichty and
Daijah Brown was third at 49.24 seconds.
Lydia Albrecht was third in the discus at 123-6, followed by
Megan Petras in fourth place at 119-6 and
Erin Van Berkel in seventh place at 114-4.
Elisabeth Klumpyan was sixth in the 10,000-meter run at 43:14.81, with
Brenna Cisler finishing in eighth place at 45:53.67.
