
WAUKESHA - St. Norbert College won half of the events contested at the Carroll University Invitational and cruised to the team title by nearly 100 points.
The Green Knights won 10 of 20 events and added six second-place finishes to roll up a whopping 228 points, well ahead of runner-up Ripon College's 131 1/2 points. Host Carroll was third with 106 points.
Both St. Norbert relays won, with the 4x100 quartet of
Sydney Zima,
Daijah Brown,
Emelia Lichty and
Audrey Makope turning in a time of 49.46 seconds. The 4x400-meter relay of
Brianne Barta,
Julie Dunkel,
Cora Purdue and
Joyana Tarsa won with a time of 4:14.80.
Olivia Eisch won the 1,500-meter run in 4:57.17 and was second in the 800-meter run at 2:23.85.
Lauren Rottier claimed the high jump at 5 feet 1 1/4 inches, was second in the javelin throw at 110-2 and finished sixth in the in the 400-meter dash at 1:05.26.
Sydney Zima was first in the long jump at 17-1 1/2 and placed third in the 200-meter dash at 26.24 seconds.
Sydney Spaeth won the triple jump at 36-3 1/2 and finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles at 16.79 seconds.
Tarsa won the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 11:30.19, while Dunkel claimed the 400-meter dash at 59.89 seconds.
Sara DeGroot cleared 11-0 3/4 to take the pole vault.
Sydney Bartz won the 10,000-meter run at 43:35.17, while
Carolyn Neerdaels was in second at 43:54.26.
Grace Kowalkowski finished second in the 100-meter hurdles (16.27 seconds) and in was third in the pole vault (10-6 3/4). Makope finished second in the 100-meter dash in 12.47 seconds.
St. Norbert had four scorers in the 400-meter hurdles.
Jennifer Nummi led the contingent with a second-place showing in 1:11.94, followed by
Alex Bruley in third at 1:13.32,
Sammi Digman in fourth at 1:15.35 and
Madelyn Schlies in eighth at 1:18.69. Bruley also finished third in the 100-meter dash in 13.07 seconds and 1,500-meter run at 5:05.25.
Emma Sweere finished third in the hammer throw at 145-7.
Sydney Moore was fifth in the high jump at 4-9, while
Miani Blackwell was fifth in the shot put at 38-2 1/4.
Lydia Albrecht was fifth in the javelin throw at 94-9, while
Brittany Wagner was fifth in the triple jump at 31-6 3/4.
Elisabeth Klumpyan was sixth in the 5,000-meter run at 19:49.04 and
Brenna Cisler finished eighth in 20:35.30.
Sydney Olund finished seventh in the 400-meter dash in 1:05.51.
