MADISON - St. Norbert College couldn't get an elusive match point and dropped a 3-2 decision to Edgewood University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Todd Wehr Edgedome.

The Green Knights fell to the Eagles by scores of 25-18, 21-25, 25-23, 17-25, 19-17. The match featured 45 ties and 14 lead changes.

St. Norbert had three match points in Set 5 at 14-12, 14-13 and 15-14 but the Eagles held off defeat on all three. Edgewood scored the final two points following a 17-17 tie to get the win.

The Green Knights trailed for most of the first set to trail 1-0. St. Norbert trailed 17-14 in Set 2 before going on a 9-2 run to take a 23-19 lead en route to a 1-1 tie. The third set featured an 18-18 tie before Edgewood went on a 3-0 run to take the lead for good, holding off St. Norbert pulling to within 23-22 and 24-23. St. Norbert pulled away from an 11-11 tie in Set 4 with an 8-2 run and force the decisive fifth set.

St. Norbert had 56 kills against 26 errors in 150 attempts to hit .200. Noah Cullen and Jacob Van Ooyen had 18 kills apiece, while Kaden Kornaus had 13 kills. Michael Whitney finished with 47 assists. Kade Nelson had three service aces and Cullen added two. 

Whitney had 19 digs and Ryan Conway with 15 digs. Nelson totaled seven blocks, while Van Ooyen added five.

Edgewood hit .261 with 65 kills against 24 errors in 157 attempts. Cade Schueller had a team-high 18 kills.
