DE PERE – St. Norbert College senior Mari Szews was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's offensive player of the week, announced today by the conference office.  

Szews, a Rhinelander native and Three Lakes High School graduate, led the Green Knights on their way to a 4-0 weekend, totaling 48 kills and hitting .471 against seven errors on 87 attempts.  

She had double-digit kills in three of the four matches at the Chick-fil-A Invitational, with her high coming against Augsburg University with 14 kills on 19 attempts and a .684 hitting percentage. She followed that performance with 13 against Gallaudet University, 12 against College of St. Scholastica and nine against Hamline University.  

Szews also had 15 total blocks and five digs on the defensive side en route to being named the event's most outstanding player.  

The award is the first in her career.
