DE PERE – St. Norbert College senior forward Liam Fraser has been named to the third team of the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) NCAA Division III Men's At-Large Academic All-American Team, announced today (Jul. 9) by CSC.
Fraser, a Calgary, Alberta native, earned a 3.76 grade point average as a finance major.
Fraser led the Green Knights in goals with 21 while also tallying 23 assists for 44 points. He also broke an NCAA Division III record with 10 game-winning goals in a season. He was named a second-team All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA), a first team All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Association selection and an academic All-NCHA honoree.
Fraser is the seventh St. Norbert men's hockey player to achieve Academic All-American status, with that group acquiring eight Academic All-American honors.
Overall, since the inception of the CSC Academic All-America program in 1952, 59 St. Norbert College student-athletes have been selected for 81 awards.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 on a scale of 4.0, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his current institution and be nominated by his sports information director.
