Eden Maranell had a banner two days in the heptathlon at the Duke University Invitational at Morris Williams Stadium.
Maranell posted a personal-best total of 4,248 points to finish seventh in her 15-athlete grouping, placing ahead of eight NCAA Division I contestants. Her total is currently the 12th-best mark this season's NCAA Division III outdoor competition.
Maranell scored 756 points with a time of 15.66 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles and followed with 599 points after clearing 4 feet 10 3/4 inches in the high jump. She rounded out Day 1 with 498 points in the shot put with a toss of 31-2 3/4 and 800 points with a time of 25.97 seconds in the 200-meter dash.
She wrapped up Day 2 with 567 points in the long jump with a distance of 16-6. Maranell followed with 381 points in the javelin throw with a distance of 81-9 1/2 and 647 points in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:33.75.
