DE PERE – St. Norbert College opened its outdoor season with a dominant first-place finish at its own Early Bird Meet at Schneider Stadium, topping a nine-team field.
The Green Knights totaled 298 points, earning 11 event victories. UW-Stevens Point came in second place with 142 points.
Casey Vaughan (pictured) won the 100-meter dash in 12.8 seconds, while
Katie Smith took first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.34.
Madison Gramblicka added a win in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.01, and
Bijou Phillips captured the 5,000-meter run in 18:38.76.
Gretchen Schwarz also earned a first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking in at 16.53.
St. Norbert saw continued success in the relays and field events, as the 4x100-meter relay team of Vaughan, Smith,
Gracie Wolfe, and
Madi Crossman placed first in 49.55. The team of
Rachael Allen,
Kendra Troxel,
Madison Gramblicka, and
Catherine Fairbanks finished first in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:36.67.
Lillia Carson won the long jump with a mark of 5.1 meters, and
Alli Clark took first in the triple jump at 10.63. Isabello Galindo earned first place in the pole vault with a height of 3.35.
Taylor Thiry captured both the shot put and discus throw titles with a throw of 11.84 for shot put and 37.82 for discus.
