DE PERE - St. Norbert College couldn't slow down Dominican University's offense in a 3-0 loss in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.
The Green Knights fell to the Stars 25-14, 25-18, 25-21.
St. Norbert was tied 2-2 in the opening set by Dominican slowly pulled away from there, finishing the set on an 11-3 run. The Green Knights trailed 10-8 and 16-14 before Dominican went on another run, taking a 23-15 lead with a 7-1 spurt. St. Norbert kept battling, eventually pulling even 16-16 in Set 3. The Stars then went on a 5-1 run to get some breathing room and lock up the match.
The Green Knights hit .054 for the match, with 23 kills against 18 errors in 93 attempts.
Barry Applewhite (pictured) had six kills in nine attempts with no errors.
Kaden Kornaus,
Owen Knezevich and
Bennett Kornaus all had four kills apiece.
Michael Whitney finished with 20 assists.
Whitney had a team-high eight digs, while
Kaden Kornaus and
Ryan Conway had six each.
Kade Nelson registered four blocks, with Knezevich adding two.
Dominican hit .286, with 43 kills and 17 errors in 91 swings. Tanner Dahman had a match-high 12 kills.
