RIPON - St. Norbert College got its men's indoor track and field season underway with a second-place finish at the Ripon College Winter Open at Willmore Center.
The Green Knights finished second out of 11 teams with 67.5 points. UW-Oshkosh won the team standings with 279.5 points. Carroll University was third with 57 points.
St. Norbert's lone win came in the 4x200-meter relay, when
Kavin Fredrick,
Noah James,
Michael Pollos and
Gabe Thiel finished in 1:33.20.
Ezra Schermacher was second in the pole vault at 14 feet 5 1/2 inches.
Jacob Klitzke was second in the shot put at 49-11 1/4.
Frederick was third in the 300-meter dash in 37.41 seconds, while
Jonathan Timm was third in the high jump at 5-11 1/2.
