Box Score GENEVA, Ill. - St. Norbert College finished off a sweep of Aurora University in a key Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series at Fox Valley Ice Arena.
The Green Knights (12-3-2, 8-0 NCHA) opened up a seven-point lead on Aurora (11-3-1, 5-2-1), which entered the week ranked No. 12 in the USCHO.com Division III Poll.
St. Norbert grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first period.
Kelsey Ross put the Green Knights on the board at 15:19, followed by a marker from
Natalie Hogan at 18:05.
The Green Knights moved out to a 3-0 advantage when
Courtnie Hogan scored at 18:49 of the third period. Aurora got a goal back in the final minute of the stanza, when Ava Eid scored just 14 seconds later. St. Norbert carried its 3-1 lead into second intermission.
Aurora halved its deficit when Darci Matson scored at 7:45 of the third period. The Spartans would get 49 seconds of extra-attacker time but could not find the equalizer.
Natalie Hogan had two assists for a three-point game, while Ross had an assist for a two-point outing.
The Spartans outshot the Green Knights 34-26.
Brynn Waisman made 32 saves for St. Norbert.
St. Norbert was 0-for-4 on the power play, while Aurora was 0-for-2.
