
GREENSBORO, N.C. – St. Norbert College had a pair of women take part Friday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship at Irwin Belk Track.
Juniors
Lauren Rottier and
Joyana Tarsa competed in the heptathlon and 3,000-meter steeplechase, respectively. It was the first NCAA Championship appearance for both.
Rottier, a Seymour native, finished 16th in the heptathlon with 4,166 points. In three events contested Friday, Rottier posted a long jump of 15 feet 11 1 1/2 inches for 522 points, a javelin throw of 117-10 for 589 points and an 800-meter run of 2:51.36 for 450 points. SUNY-Geneseo's Emily Lavarnway was the national champion with 5,372 points.
Tarsa, a Traverse City, Mich., native, finished 18th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Tarsa finished with a time of 11:38.73. Wartburg College's Aubrie Fisher was the national champion with a time of 10:30.46.
