
RIPON – St. Norbert College registered four event winners and seven runner-up finishes en route to the Midwest Conference North Division championship at Ripon College's Ingalls Field.
The Green Knights totaled 240 points, edging Ripon's 202 points. Beloit College was in third place with 92 points, while Lawrence University followed with 56 points and Lake Forest College with 19 points.
Sydney Spaeth set a new St. Norbert record in the triple jump, posting a leap of 37 feet 0 1/4 inch to finish second. She broke Kyra Vanden Heuvel's old mark of 36-4 set in 2015.
Joyana Tarsa won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:17.65 and added a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:07.79. Tarsa also won the 1,500-meter run on Friday.
The Green Knights had half of the scorers in the 400-meter dash, with
Daijah Brown winning at 58.54 seconds.
Julie Dunkel was third at 59.68 seconds,
Cora Purdue fourth at 1:00.97 and
Brianne Barta eighth in 1:03.59.
Miani Blackwell won her second field event of the weekend, taking the shot put after winning the hammer throw on Friday. Blackwell fired the shot with a winning mark of 42-6.
Emma Sweere was fourth at 37-6 and
Megan Petras was sixth at 36-8 1/2.
Alex Bruley won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:49.22, while
Madelyn Schlies was sixth at 14:02.95.
Sydney Zima picked up a pair of second-place finishes with a time of 12.54 seconds in the 100-meter dash and a time of 26.20 seconds in the 200-meter dash.
Lauren Rottier was second in the javelin throw with a toss of 114-3, followed by Nya Karner in fifth place at 97-10 and
Lydia Albrecht in sixth place at 93-5.
The 4x400-meter relay of
Olivia Eisch, Dunkel,
Sydney Olund and Brown finished second with a time of 4:04.22. Eisch added a second-place showing in the 800-meter run in 2:20.58.
Grace Kowalkowski finished third in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.84 seconds, followed by
Anna Giblin in fifth at 16.31 seconds and Spaeth in sixth at 16.40 seconds.
Brown was fifth in the 200-meter dash in 26.89 seconds followed by
Emelia Lichty in seventh place at 27.32 seconds.
Sammi Digman was fifth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:11.97, followed by
Jennifer Nummi in sixth place at 1:12.04 and Olund in seventh at 1:12.21. Lichty was sixth in the 100-meter dash at 12.99 seconds.
Chloe Pierson was sixth in the 5,000-meter run in 20:02.21, followed by
Carolyn Neerdaels in seventh at 20:16.19 and
Faith Mertzig eighth at 21:02.41. Bruley added a seventh-place finish in the 800-meter run in 2:26.66.
Brittany Wagner was seventh in the triple jump at 32-9 1/2 and Chloe Gruszynski was eighth in 32-7.
