
KENOSHA - St. Norbert College broke several school records over the three-day Carthage College Classic Invitational at Koenitzer Aquatic Center.
The Green Knights finished fifth out of 11 teams at the highly competitive meet, scoring 1,057.5 points. Carthage won the meet with 2,500.5 points, while Lake Forest College was second with 1,653 points.
Lexi LaCombe set St. Norbert records in the 1,000- and 1,650-yard freestyle, turning in times of 11:18.95 and 18:47.38, respectively.
Lacy Geurts won the 100-yard freestyle with a St. Norbert-record time of 53.38 seconds and then gained her second school record with a winning time of of 1:56.36 in the 200-yard freestyle.
Jenna Brandenburg also set two new St. Norbert records, winning the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.40 and finishing third in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:11.64.
Megan Pierce picked up a new school standard in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing eighth with a time of 2:14.80.
The 200-yard freestyle relay of
Clare Santas, Geurts, LaCombe and
Amelia Wilcox posted a St. Norbert-record time of 1:42.72 to finish seventh. The 400-yard freestyle relay of Wilcox, LaCombe, Santas and Geurts also set a St. Norbert mark of 3:44.53.
Brandenburg finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:29.11, while
Katelyn Holmstrom was tenth in 2:40.12. Geurts was third in the 100-yard butterfly in 59.72 seconds, while Brandenburg was fourth in 59.76 seconds. Pierce was fifth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.61.
Rachel Koch finished ninth in the 400-yard individual medley in 4:57.70, while Holmstrom was ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:12.06. LaCombe was tenth in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:35.59.
