
GRINNELL, Iowa - For the third consecutive year, St. Norbert College finished in second place at the Midwest Conference Swimming & Diving Championship held at Grinnell College's Osgood Pool.
The Green Knights finished with 789 points to finish behind conference champion Grinnell's 1,067 points. Lake Forest College was a distant third with 628 points.
At the conclusion of the meet, St. Norbert freshman diver
Ashley Mako was named MWC Newcomer of the Year after finishing second in both the 1- and 3-meter diving.
St. Norbert added a pair of individual conference titles on the fourth and final day of competition.
Ally Boyer (pictured) won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:25.45, her third MWC title in the event and her fifth overall.
Alisha Draeger claimed the 100-yard freestyle in 53.21 seconds, her first conference championship.
Claire Sieber finished second in the 100 freestyle in 53.88 seconds, while
Katherine Thompson was fourth in 54.03 seconds.
The 400-yard freestyle relay of Sieber, Thompson, Boyer and Draeger finished third in 3:38.21.
Isabelle Halsall finished third in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 18:23.09, while
Grace Sobczak was eighth in 18:45.98.
Sanya Wienke was fourth in the 200 breaststroke in 2:31.26, with
Emma Dees finishing eighth in 2:34.33.
Madeline Finstad finished sixth in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:15.21. Dees added a second eighth-place finish, this time in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:13.16.
