LA CROSSE – St. Norbert College senior Ezra Schermacher finished in 16th place in the pole vault at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship at UW-La Crosse Veterans Memorial Stadium.
 
Schermacher cleared the first two heights of 15 feet 7 inches and 16-0 3/4 on his second attempt on each. He then dislodged the bar on all three attempts at 16-4 3/4. Washington (Mo.) University's Peter Lichtenberger won the national championship on an attempts tiebreaker with a height of 17-2 3/4.
 
Schermacher earned second-team All-America honors by placing 16th.
