MILWAUKEE - St. Norbert College lost a close first set and couldn't recover and ultimately fell 3-0 to Wisconsin Lutheran College in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Time of Grace Center.
The Green Knights fell to the Warriors 25-22, 25-18, 25-19.
The first set featured 13 ties and four lead changes, with St. Norbert holding a 14-11 lead. The Green Knights last held the lead at 18-17 and their last tie was 22-22 before the Warriors scored the last three points of the set to take a 1-0 lead. Wisconsin Lutheran pulled away from an 11-11 tie with an 8-3 run to take control and a 2-0 lead. There were eight ties in the third set, the last at 13-13. St. Norbert trailed 17-16 before a quick 5-1 spurt by the Warriors essentially locked up the set and match.
St. Norbert hit .291, with 36 kills against 11 errors in 86 attempts.
Ryan Da Silva (pictured) finished with 10 kills, while
Kade Nelson added nine and
Noah Cullen seven.
Michael Whitney had 27 assists.
Whitney finished with 11 digs, while Da Silva and
Ryan Conway had six each.
WIsconsin Lutheran hit .354, with 46 kills against 11 errors in 99 attempts. Brady Pichler had a match-high 16 kills.
