NOTRE DAME, Ind. - St. Norbert College competed in its second tournament of the inaugural season, competing in the Saint Mary's College Valentine's Day Tournament at the Angela Athletic and Wellness Complex.
The Green Knights took on five opponents over the course of the weekend, with schools from all corners of the country coming to compete. The Green Knights fell in all five matchups but continued to progress as a young program.
St. Norbert faced Heidelberg University in the opening contest on Saturday, with the Green Knights falling 8-1. The team picked up their first point in program history in the first quarter during the partner stunt routines to tie the match at 1-1 before Heidelberg finished on a 7-0 scoring run.
St. Norbert then faced George Fox University and St. Edward's University to round out the first day, being defeated 12-0 and 10-0 respectively.
The Green Knights opened the second day with a 9-2 loss to University of Olivet, scoring a point once again in the first quarter on routine two and added one more point in the fourth quarter. The Green Knights then dropped a 9-0 decision to Maryville College to finish the tournament.
St. Norbert will return on March 21 at Buena Vista University for two conference matches.
