DE PERE - St. Norbert College picked up its second win in just over nine hours with a 9-0 romp over Milwaukee School of Engineering in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Cornerstone Community Center.
The Green Knights finished the series opener at 11 a.m. Sunday after
completing two periods of a suspended game from Saturday with a 5-2 win. The two teams hit the ice again just seven hours later to wrap up the series.
St. Norbert took a 2-0 lead in the first period, getting a goal from
Dayton Deics at 5:35 and
Ethan Byrne at 17:11. The Green Knights broke things open with a three-goal second period on an unassisted marker from
Jack Seaverson at 10:46,
Logan Dombrowsky finishing a nice passing combination at 12:43 and
Braydon Beahm potting a marker at 17:29.
The Green Knights fashioned a four-goal third period. Beahm scored again at 4:46, while
T.J. Koufis finished at 9:11.
Curtis Hammond scored a shorthanded goal at 13:31, and Beahm came out of the penalty box to score 19:27 on a breakaway for a hat trick.
Fifteen players found their way into the scoring column, with five multi-point games. In addition to Beahm's three goals for three points, Hammond had one goal and two assists for three points, while
Ryan Gingher had three assists for three points. Dombrowsky had one goal and one assist for two points, while
Braden Lindstrom had two assists for two points.
Cooper Morris finished with a plus-5, while Gingher, Hammond and
Jack Christen were all plus-4.
Hunter Garvey (pictured) made 29 saves to gain the shutout and also added an assist.
St. Norbert outshot MSOE 39-23. Both teams were 0-for-4 on the power play.
