Eden Maranell set a pair of records with a strong performance in the pentathlon at the UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Multi at Kolf Sports Center.
Maranell piled up 3,486 points to set new Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference and St. Norbert records. Maranell had the best score in four of the five events against a field of 12 competitors to win by 390 points over the runner-up.
Maranell opened with 796 points with a time of 9.56 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles. She then cleared 5 feet 4 1/4 inches in the high jump to start her skein of event wins, scoring 771 points.
Scoring 536 points in the shot put with a top heave of 33-1 3/4, Maranell followed up with 688 points in the long jump with a distance of 17-11. She closed out the five-event competition with a time of 2:29.82 in the 800-meter run for 695 points.
