PLYMOUTH - St. Norbert College's season came to an end with a 3-2 loss at Lakeland University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Woltzen Gymnasium.
The Green Knights (8-19, 4-8 NACC) dropped the match to the Muskies by scores of 21-25, 25-21, 17-25, 25-20, 15-11.
St. Norbert trailed 9-8 in Set 1 before a 5-0 run behind a pair of
Jackson Wolterstorff service aces gave the Green Knights the momentum. Set 2 was tied at 18-18 before the Muskies went on a quick 3-0 spurt to take control. The Green Knights never trailed in Set 3, taking an 8-7 lead and opening up a 14-9 edge. St. Norbert opened Set 4 with a 5-0 lead before Lakeland eventually took a 16-15 lead and never trailed after that. The decisive fifth set was tied 8-0 before the Muskies went on a clinching 4-0 run.
The Green Knights hit .186 in the match, posting 50 kills against 26 errors in 129 attempts.
Josh Hauke had 15 kills, while
Morgan Wilson added 10 kills.
Michael Whitney finished with 21 assists and
Eddie Pacula added 20. Wolterstorff and
Kaden Kornaus each had a pair of service aces.
Ryan Conway led the back row with 15 digs. Kornaus posted two blocks.
Lakeland hit .233, with 49 kills on 19 errors in 129 attempts. Hunter Henson had 21 kills.
