MEQUON - St. Norbert College faced Concordia University Wisconsin and dropped a 3-0 outcome in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Buuck Fieldhouse.
The Green Knights were swept by the Falcons in three consecutive 25-21 scores.
St. Norbert was tied 11-11 in Set 1 before the Falcons went on a 6-1 run to take a 17-12 lead. The Green Knights got back to within one point three times late, the last time at 22-21 before the Falcons scored three straight points to end the set. St. Norbert then took a 7-1 lead in Set 2 behind aces from
Jake Krueger and
Owen Knezevich. The Green Knights held the lead all the way to 17-15 before Concordia went on a 6-0 run to take a 21-17 lead and held on for a 2-0 lead.
Set 3 featured 10 ties and five lead changes. The Green Knights trailed 22-21 late but Concordia again scored the last three points to claim the set and match.
St. Norbert hit .069 with 26 kills and 20 errors in 87 attempts. Knezevich had 10 kills, while
Kaden Kornaus added five.
Eddie Pacula had 13 assists and
Michael Whitney 10. Krueger had three service aces.
Ryan Conway had a team-high 10 digs and Kornaus added eight. Kornaus, Knezevich,
Jake Bettag and
Kade Nelson all had two blocks apiece.
Concordia hit .198 with 39 kills and 18 errors in 106 attempts. Ben Kayser had 14 kills to lead the Falcons.
