RIVER FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College took defending Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference champion Dominican University to four sets in a 3-1 loss at Igini Sports Forum.

The Green Knights (6-11, 3-3 NACC) fell to the Stars 25-7, 27-25, 15-25, 25-14.

St. Norbert trailed 12-8, 18-14 and 20-16 in Set 2 before forcing a deuce set. A kill and two service aces from Owen Knezevich brought the Green Knights to 20-19, but the Stars scored two points for a 22-19 edge. St. Norbert then scored four-straight points fueled by a pair of Kade Nelson service aces for a 23-22 lead. The Green Knights had ties of 24-24 and 25-25 but could not get to set point.

The Green Knights never trailed in Set 3, with a 7-1 run turning a 4-3 lead into an 11-4 edge. Jake Krueger had a kill and service ace during the run. The Stars cut it to 16-12 but St. Norbert rattled off a 5-0 run to pull away and clinch the set. St. Norbert fell behind 10-1 in Set 4 and got back to 14-9 but would get no closer.

St. Norbert hit .128 for the match, with 28 kills and 17 errors in 86 swings. Jake Bettag had nine kills, while Knezevich had six. Eddie Pacula had 20 assists. Krueger, Knezevich and Nelson all had two aces apiece.

Pacula had 11 digs, while Nelson had three blocks and Bettag and Barry Applewhite had two each.

Dominican hit .355, with 45 kills and 12 errors in 93 swings. Casey Goss had a team-high 14 kills.
