Box Score DE PERE - St. Norbert College restarted its men's tennis season with an 8-1 win over Ripon College in a non-conference match at Green Bay Tennis Center.
The Green Knights (1-2), who played a pair of dual matches in the fall season, staked their first win of the season by getting a jump on the Red Hawks by taking two of three doubles matches.
Anthony Michels and
Brian Coulter defeated Ty Rondestvedt and Austin Stevens 8-2 at No. 2 doubles, while
Josh Brown and
David Vandenberg topped Jack Ives and Casey Bryant 8-1 at No. 3.
St. Norbert swept the six singles matches.
Brett Daniels claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win over Caleb Sippel at No. 1, followed by a 6-3, 1-6, 10-5 victory for Michels over CJ Counts at No. 2. Vandenberg bested Stevens 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3, while Coulter defeated Rondestvedt 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4.
Joe Pellechia picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win over Bryant at No. 5, and Brown topped Ives 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6.
