DE PERE - St. Norbert College earned the doubles point but couldn't hold off UW-Stevens Point in singles play with a 4-3 setback in a non-conference match at Green Bay Tennis Center.
The Green Knights won two of the three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead.
Brett Daniels (pictured) and
Ryan Garland topped Malcolm Rice and Ayden Knuth 6-2 at No. 1, while
Nolan Pearson and
Jackson Harpt claimed a 7-6 win over Anthony James and Dawsom Froemming at No. 2.
Daniels then fashioned a 6-3, 6-3 win over Froemming at No. 1 singles, while Harpt outlasted Rice 7-6, 7-6 at No. 3. The Pointers won two three-set matches in singles play to pull out the team victory.
