
EAU CLAIRE - St. Norbert College split a pair of matches against Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foes on the second day of action at the UW-Eau Claire Sandy Schumacher Memorial Tournament at McPhee Physical Education Center.
The Green Knights dropped a tough 3-0 decision to Gustavus Adolphus College 30-28, 25-22, 25-16 before rebounding to top St. Catherine University by a 3-1 count and scores of 18-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-15.
St. Norbert held a 24-20 lead in the first set against once-beaten Gustavus Adolphus, but the Gusties answered to rally and steal the set and get momentum for the match. St. Norbert hit .142 in the match, with 29 kills and 11 errors in 127 attempts.
Grace Baumann had 11 kills, while
Brooke Clement added six.
Ellie Hartson had 14 assists. Baumann added two service aces.
Liz Maastricht finished with 19 digs, while
Emily Terry added 12.
Molly Rader totaled three blocks.
Against St. Catherine, the Green Knights hit .211 with 46 kills and 20 errors in 123 attempts. Baumann totaled 17 kills, while
Rylie Gregg added seven kills and Clement six.
Devon Nardoni had 17 kills and Hartson 14.
Baumann and Terry led the defense with nine digs apiece.
