St. Norbert Trims Concordia Wisconsin

DE PERE - St. Norbert College pulled off its biggest win in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference to date with an impressive 3-1 win over Concordia University Wisconsin at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.

The Green Knights (17-13, 8-4 NACC) knocked Concordia (20-4, 10-2) from a share of first place and snapped the Falcons' 17-match overall winning streak. St. Norbert won by scores of 25-22, 17-25, 25-19, 25-18.

St. Norbert led 20-17 in the opening set and then traded the next 10 points to win the stanza. The Green Knights jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the third set and saw Concordia get to within 20-17, but the Green Knights scored five of the next seven points to win. St. Norbert got another big early lead in the fourth set at 6-0 and never trailed en route to the win.

St. Norbert hit .191 for the match, getting 49 kills against 18 errors in 162 attempts. Grace Baumann had 16 kills, while Alyssa Mills had 13 kills with just one error in 27 attempts, and Brooke Clement had 12 kills. Devon Nardoni had 38 assists and four service aces. Liz Maastricht added three service aces.

Maastricht and Baumann had 16 digs apiece, while Mills added 15 digs and Clement 11. Mills had four blocks, while Molly Rader had three.

Concordia hit .138 for the match, with 51 kills and 29 errors in 160 attempts. Lauren Shroba had 14 kills, while Maycee Karpfinger had 10 to lead the Falcons.
