
PLYMOUTH - St. Norbert College bounced back from a 2-0 deficit to claim a hard-fought 3-2 win over Lakeland University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Woltzen Gymnasium.
The Green Knights (15-11, 6-2 NACC) took the match 23-25, 27-29, 25-14, 25-18, 15-9. St. Norbert trailed 6-2 in the fourth set before eventually taking a 13-11 lead. After the set was tied at 13-13, St. Norbert scored the next five points to take control. The Green Knights led the fifth set 8-7 and then got the next three points for an 11-7 edge. St. Norbert held a 12-9 lead and then closed out the match on kills from
Grace Baumann and
Molly Rader and a service ace from Baumann.
St. Norbert hit .196 for the match, getting 58 kills with 22 errors in 184 attempts, and hit .269 over the last three sets (38-9-108). Baumann registered 18 kills, while
Brooke Clement added 12 and
Emily Terry 10.
Devon Nardoni finished with 23 assists and
Ellie Hartson 15. Baumann, Clement and
Liz Maastricht all had two service aces apiece.
The Green Knights totaled 103 digs, with Maastricht posting a team-high 29. Clement added 16 digs, Terry 15, Nardoni 12 and Baumann 11. Rader registered eight blocks, while Baumann had four and Clement three.
Lakeland hit .102 for the match with 51 kills and 30 errors in 205 attempts, but hit just .034 in the last three sets. Susana Stevens had a team-high 14 kills for the Muskies.
