
CHICAGO - St. Norbert College found itself in another tough match on the road but against saw a key set swing its way and captured a 3-1 win over Illinois Institute of Technology in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference tussle at Keating Sports Center.
The Green Knights (16-11, 7-2 NACC) tipped the Scarlet Hawks 25-21, 23-25, 26-24, 25-22.
Illinois Tech had leads of 19-15, 21-16 and 22-17 in the third set, but the Green Knights were able to go on a 7-1 run to take a 24-23 lead. After the Scarlet Hawks scored the next point to force the Green Knights' fourth deuce set in their last four matches,
Molly Rader registered a kill and Illinois Tech had a hitting error to allow St. Norbert to take a 2-1 lead.
St. Norbert trailed 21-19 in the fourth set but went on a 6-1 run to close out the match.
Grace Baumann had two kills during the run.
The Green Knights hit .128 for the match, with 48 kills and 25 errors in 179 attempts. Baumann finished with a match-high 18 kills, while
Brooke Clement added 13 kills.
Devon Nardoni had 18 assists and four service aces, while
Ellie Hartson added 16 assists.
Liz Maastricht finished with 20 digs, while Nardoni added 15. Rader had four blocks, while
Rylie Gregg and
Linnea Svennes had three apiece.
