DE PERE – St. Norbert College faced a 2-0 setback to Illinois Tech in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Schneider Stadium.
The Green Knights (3-3-2, 1-1 NACC), nearly opened the scoring in the first minute of the game when Everett Saeger's superb hit off a corner forced a quick save. Kenzo Sly-Umebayashi (pictured) nearly converted on the rebound but found his shot hitting too high of the frame.
The Scarlet Hawks took the lead at 9:20 on a free kick from Junior Pineda-Alcala. Joe Anguil forced a stop just before half as the visitors took a one-goal lead into the break. Illinois Tech eventually found a second goal near the end at 86:32 from Logan Orlee.
St. Norbert was outshot 8-7 by the Scarlet Hawks. Gabriel Mathisen made one save in relief during the second half. David Rodriguez made three stops for Illinois Tech.
