Green Knights Fall Twice In Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE - St. Norbert College didn't generate much offensively and was thus swept by Milwaukee School of Engineering by scores of 11-3 and 5-2 in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference doubleheader at MSOE Softball Field.

The Green Knights got off to a good start in the opener, scoring twice in the top of the first inning on RBI singles from Grendel Sprong and Allison Ardito. After the Raiders got a run back in the bottom of the first inning, the Green Knights took a 3-1 lead on Morgan Jarvi's sacrifice fly to plate Molly Reichenberger in the second inning. St. Norbert would hold its two-run lead until the Raiders exploded for nine runs in the fifth inning and then closed the game out with a run in the sixth inning.

St. Norbert had five hits in the opener, highlighted by a double from Ava Engwall. Amber Johanek took the loss in 4 1/3 innings pitched.

In the nightcap, St. Norbert again took a two-run lead with a pair of runs in the top of the third inning on a RBI double from Jarvi, who later scored on an error. MSOE then put together another big inning with a five-run third. The Green Knights would get two runners on in each of the next two innings but did not score.

Karleigh Linssen (pictured) was 2-for-3, while Jarvi was 2-for-4 with a double, run scored and run batted in. Alyson Clarke took the loss in two-plus innings of work for the Green Knights.
