DE PERE - St. Norbert College came up shy in its attempt to claim a share of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference regular-season championship with a 7-0 setback to Illinois Tech at Green Bay Tennis Center.
The Green Knights (8-12, 4-2 NACC) will now be the No. 3 seeding for the NACC Tournament and will host Concordia University Chicago in a first-round match on Tuesday, April 28 at Green Bay Tennis Center.
St. Norbert almost came away taking the doubles point but lost a second tiebreaker after winning the first.
Brett Daniels and
Charlie Keller topped Tanay Sharma and Alexander Feher 7-6 (8-6) at No. 1. The tandem of
Ryan Garland and
Nolan Pearson dropped a tough 7-6 (7-4) outcome to Pedro Roca and Joseph Au at No. 2.
Daniels extended Sharma to three sets at No. 1 singles before succumbing 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8).
