DE PERE - St. Norbert College got off to a good start in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament with a 4-0 win over Concordia University Chicago at Green Bay Tennis Center.
The Green Knights (9-12), the No. 3 seeding in the NACC Tournament, advance to a semifinal-round match at 1 p.m. Friday in Glendale against No. 2-seeding Milwaukee School of Engineering.
St. Norbert picked up the doubles point with a pair of wins.
Brett Daniels and
Charlie Keller blanked Andres Villagran and Sam Smith 6-0 at No. 1, while
Ryan Garland and
Nolan Pearson topped Collin Dickey and August Barnes 6-1 at No. 2.
In singles play, Daniels clipped Dickey 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1.
Jackson Harpt (pictured) defeated Rey Leal 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2. Pearson then closed out the match with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Kevin Bullens at No. 5.
The other three singles matches were left unfinished as the match had already reached a team decision, per post-season protocol.
