DE PERE – St. Norbert College senior Taylor Thiry has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's Women's Basketball Player of the Year, announced today by the conference office. Senior Oakley Witteck and sophomore Olivia Conway were named second team selections.
Thiry, a Casco native and Luxemburg-Casco High School graduate, was named the NACC's player of the year for a second consecutive season, averaging 16.4 points per game and shooting 52.1 percent from the floor. She was third in the conference with 377 points and currently sits fourth on St. Norbert's all-time scoring list. She was also named the NACC's Player of the Week four times throughout the season.
Witteck, a De Pere native and graduate, averaged 8.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. She started in 21 games, scoring 172 points and shooting 55.5 percent from the floor.
Conway, a Wauwatosa native and Waukesha Catholic Memorial High School graduate, averaged nine points and 2.7 assists per game. She was second in scoring with 207 points, shooting 41 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from three.
