Immaculate Fourth Quarter Leads to Green Knight Comeback

DE PERE – It was a perfect end in St. Norbert College's 76-71 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering, going an immaculate 10-for-10 from the floor and 8-for-8 from the free throw line as the Green Knights erased a 14-point deficit in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Mulva Family Fitness and Sports Center.

The Green Knights (15-7, 13-2) trailed for most of the first, second and third quarters before the late run.

The Raiders were lethal from three in the early going, making seven in just the first quarter. MSOE ended the first quarter on a 9-3 run to hold a 26-18 lead and went up by 14 points in the second quarter until a three from Avery Bierowski ended the bleeding. A 6-0 run led by Marnie Kahl and Rose Hahn cut the lead down to 34-27 with 2:54 to play in the second, while a three just before the buzzer from Kahl gave MSOE a 39-32 halftime lead.

Hahn and Taylor Thiry (pictured) made an impact early in the third quarter as the Raiders held on to a 46-45 lead, with Thiry grabbing six points while Hahn had five. An and-one opportunity for Thiry tied the game before the Raiders quickly retook the lead to hold a 49-47 advantage.

Despite shots falling for St. Norbert in the fourth quarter, the Raiders still managed to hold a one possession lead until six quick points from Olivia Conway finally gave St. Norbert its first lead since 8-6 in the first quarter. Late free throws from Thiry and Witteck ensured a wild victory for the Green Knights.

St. Norbert shot 55.8 percent from the floor (29-for-52). Thiry led the way with 20 points and is now tied for fourth in St. Norbert's all-time scoring list with Carla Biwan '83 with 1,297 career points. Kahl had 14 points while Conway had 11 points with six assists.

MSOE shot 46.4 percent from the floor (26-for-56). Lana Kerly led the Raiders with 20 points.
