AURORA, Ill. - St. Norbert College succumbed to a 61-48 road loss against Aurora University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Thornton Gymnasium.
The Green Knights (14-7, 12-2 NACC) never led against the Spartans, falling behind early in the first quarter thanks to an 8-0 Aurora run. Olivia Conway cut the deficit to 8-5 with 4:50 remaining in the first quarter with a 3-pointer and again hit a trey near the end of the period as the Spartans led 16-11.
Aurora held the Green Knights to just seven points in the second quarter, going on a 7-1 to end the first half and holding a 30-18 lead. The lead never got below nine for Aurora in the third quarter and went on to hold a near 15-point lead for the final minutes.
St. Norbert shot 28.6 percent from the floor (16-for-56). Conway led the Green Knights with 14 points while Taylor Thiry had 12 points and eight rebounds. Avery Bierowski had seven points and five boards off the bench.
Aurora shot 45.7 percent from the floor (21-for-46). Krystyna Manzanarez led the Spartans with 17 points.
