St. Norbert Lethal Against Muskies

DE PERE – An early surge from St. Norbert College led to a dominant 82-58 win over Lakeland University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Mulva Family Fitness and Sports Center.

The Green Knights (14-6, 12-1 NACC) were up 13-0 less than three minutes into the first quarter and never looked back. In the opening run, Olivia Conway (pictured) hit a trifecta of 3-pointers and went a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc to stun the Muskies. Lakeland managed to cut the lead to 17-9 near the end of the quarter until two more treys from Conway made it 29-16 after the first ten minutes.

Oakley Witteck and Taylor Thiry led the Green Knights on a 10-1 run to open the second quarter and held Lakeland to just two field goals to take a 47-21 halftime lead.

The points in the paint were crucial to growing the St. Norbert lead in the second half, with Marnie Kahl and Rose Hahn getting several buckets in the third quarter as the lead ballooned to 66-40 at the end of the third quarter.

The Muskies could only get the lead down to a 21-point disadvantage in the fourth quarter but were halted from getting any closer thanks to several late 3-pointers from Ella Wiese.

St. Norbert shot 58.6 percent from the floor (34-for-58) and 61.5 percent from three (8-for-13). Conway had a career-high 23 points while dishing out six assists. Witteck had 13 points while Kahl and Thiry both had 11.

Thiry moved to fifth on St. Norbert's all-time scoring list, surpassing Julie Schill '01 with 1,266 points.

Lakeland shot 33.3 percent from the floor (20-for-60). Alexis Johnson led the Muskies with 21 points.
