DULUTH, Minn. - St. Norbert College returned to action for the first time in nearly a month and were defeated 3-1 by College of St. Scholastica in a non-conference game at Mars Lakeview Arena.
The Green Knights (10-4), ranked No. 7 in the USCHO Division III Poll, held a 45-20 advantage in shots but could only find one goal in tough afternoon for St. Norbert. St. Scholastica took the lead early in the second period at 1:54 and scored a second at 1:36 in the third period. The Saints then scored on a power play at 5:23 to hold a 3-0 lead without a St. Norbert reply.
The Green Knights finally answered with a power play goal from Tristan Wicklund (pictured) at 9:44 in the third, with assists coming from Grace Wittkopf and Sydney Zurawik. Despite 21 shots on goal in the period, the most by either team in the contest, no other shots found the back of the net.
Keira Markell made 17 stops for St. Norbert while Makenzie Cole had 44 for St. Scholastica.
St. Norbert was 1-for-3 on the power play while the Saints were 1-for-2.
